Ōtākaro's Special We Care Day
On Friday the Ōtākaro learning team had a very special We Care day where we took time to celebrate ourselves and our friends by doing lots of activities to show that we care.
Last Friday our Ōtākaro learning team spent the day having a big focus on one of the most important characteristics in our Wairakei School Vision - We Care.
The We Care characteristics is about caring for ourselves, other people and the world around us.
During the morning we participated in a range of learning activities that involved either caring for ourselves, friends or the environment.
Treats, movies and exercise were all examples of different ways we can show caring for ourselves. Playing, hanging with or making gifts were some of the ways we were able to show that we care for other people. And caring for our environment included some vegetable planting activities to take home to grow.
It was a very special day for our learning team as we continue to focus on feeling safe and happy at school, having fun with others and learning to care.
