Ōtākaro Making Meaningful Connections

Sue Williams —

This week our Ōtākaro Learning Team moved into our new learning space. Students across the team drew on their ability to Make Meaningful Connections to transition into this amazing new learning environment.

It just goes to show how important our Wairakei School Vision characteristic of making meaningful connections is.

This week 110 Ōtākaro students arrived at school and were able to carry on with their prior routines and learning in a totally new, and somewhat daunting, learning environment.

Making Meaningful Connections is all about making links from prior learning and experiences and using these knowledge and skills to help in new learning situations.

Our fantastic team of young learners adapted to our new learning environment and were able to carry on with their very best learning across all curriculum areas.

This movie is snapshot of our Absolutely Brilliant Ōtākaro Learners applying themselves to their learning during our Literacy 4 Learning stations.
