Wednesday May 16th is the first ever international day celebrating the work of support staff.

Throughout Wairakei School are a team of busy and caring folk. Support staff hours means they are often unseen by parents. However, their work is highly appreciated by us all. Their training, passion and commitment positively affect all the children. Their day-to-day work schedule involves working with small groups on literacy, numeracy and life skills. They work one-on-one supporting individuals learn. They're quick to provide an extra pair of hands. They make and repair resources. They're constantly on the lookout for ideas that can help Wairakei children. In short they're making a power of difference and Wairakei and Wairakei children would be less without them.
