Kapa haka with Wai-iti

Amanda Bentley —

Every week on Friday at 12.30pm the Wai-iti students have an action packed half hour at kapa haka in the hall.

Kapa haka teaches the students about the Māori language and Māori cultural values. It enhances everybody's positive well-being with so many high energy activities.

The session always begins with a karakia and waiata. Then Matua Sonny and Whaea Tui teach the students a wide variety of waiata with actions. Students learn haka's and play games in te reo.

We always look forward to Fridays.

Thanks for everything you do Matua Sonny and Whaea Tui.
