Students mysteriously disappear for a day - to be replaced by grown ups!
On Wednesday 14 June, the children of Ōtākaro and Timatanga Hou were nowhere to be seen! Instead, adults of a whole range of occupations and interests turned up at school!
In place of community time on Wednesday, there was a runway show to welcome our adult guests to the class and to give them a chance to showcase their uniforms and tools of the trade. We were so lucky to have such a range of occupations and interests represented at the runway show, especially as a lot of our guests were obviously extremely busy and had to take time out of their busy schedules to be there.
There were a range of professions represented, including health care professionals, entertainers, law enforcers, educators, sports stars, scientists, artists, pilots, small business owners, tradespeople, farmers, parents and even a few superheros! Throughout the day, the grown-ups were involved in formal and informal meetings to discuss their roles. It was great to hear some quality professional conversations occurring. I know that many learned a bit about a job they had not thought much about before.
Overall, it was an enjoyable day for all - we do not know where these grown came from, or if they will return, but we sure hope to see them again someday :)
