Ian and Marg Kinley of Kiwanis have been presenting Wairakei School children with Terrific Kid awards for the last 5 years.

From the Kiwanis website:

Terrific Kids is a student-recognition program that promotes character development, self-esteem and perseverance.

“Terrific” is an acronym for Thoughtful, Enthusiastic, Respectful, Responsible, Inclusive, Friendly, Inquisitive and Capable.

Though the Terrific Kids program was designed as a school program, it also can be adapted for use in community centres or other organisations that support youth.
