Wairakei School is always involved in the Music Festival as part of the massed choir. It is a special event for all involved.

Wairakei School is always involved in the Music Festival as part of the massed choir. It is a special event for our Year 5 & 6 choir members as they get to sing with over 600 other choir members from schools all across Canterbury.

This year, our performance night is Friday 28 October. This is when our Year 5 & 6 choir members are involved.

As well as our Year 5 & 6 children, we have the special group of children who successfully auditioned for the Junior special choir, which is involved every performance night, and sing different parts to the rest of the massed choir in some items. The absolutely brilliant choir members are: Amelie, Keira, William, Gabriela and Sarah. They are joined also by Indy, who successfully auditioned for both the choir and the orchestra, but he chose the orchestra as his preferred option.
