Here are the standout performers from this year's winter sports team. Well done to all teams and thank you to the volunteers that gave up their time to help our kids enjoy being active.

Every year all the senior students from Wairere are involved in a winter sports team. We are very lucky as a school to be able to provide this opportunity to all students. Skills and experience ranges from first timers right through to students who play every week for clubs and even higher honors. Every year we have students discovering new sports and the joys of being part of a team. We are very proud of all our sports teams who once again were recognised throughout the zone for their positive attitudes and sportsmanship.

At the end of the season, we take a moment to recognise those within each team who have stood out with their attitude and efforts. It is a hard choice when there are so many amazing kids giving their all and enjoying themselves every week. There are many stand out moments that stay with the students for years.

In order to offer these opportunities, we rely heavily on volunteers from our parent and wider school communities. Without these people giving up their time to help our children, it wouldn’t be possible. Thank you so much for all your support. Winter sport is a highlight of the year for many of our children and you make that possible.
