On Monday, 26 May, Wairakei School will be closed for instruction due to a scheduled Curriculum Day.

This is the second Curriculum Day of 2025, allocated by the Ministry of Education for professional learning focused on the revised Maths curriculum.

Our teaching staff greatly value this opportunity to collaborate and enhance their practice.

During the school holidays, we will be farewelling our awesome caretaker, Fred, as he moves on to a fulltime caretaker role at Merrin School.

Throughout his time at Wairakei, Fred worked tirelessly to maintain our school grounds, taking great pride in his work. His efforts were evident in the well-kept, tidy appearance of our school. He was also highly dedicated to ensuring the safety of our tamariki, always addressing health and safety concerns with care and efficiency.

Fred has been a valued and respected member of our team, and we sincerely thank him for his hard work and commitment. We wish him all the best in his new role!
