On the 31st of March there was an Amazing Book day held at school! The Student Leaders organised the event and everyone was asked to dress up as their favourite book character. We were raising money to go towards the Christchurch Library van that has been visiting our school this term. We raised an incredible $221 for the Christchurch Library.
There was a gathering in the hall in the morning for students to showcase their costumes. Students were chosen from each learning space to go down the runway. There were prizes up for grabs for the best dressed, most creative and the wackiest costume. The judges were Mrs Jackson, Mr Adkins and Anne, our special guest from Christchurch Libraries. Congratulations to Nanny McPhee, Geronimo Stilton, iSpy and the pink crayon from “The Day The Crayons Quit” who won prizes today.
There were some amazing dress ups! Everyone put a lot of effort into their costumes. The most common costumes were Harry Potter! There was also Geronimo Stilton, Disney Characters, Superheros and much more. It was very funny because the teachers were dressed up too.
We all enjoyed the book day very much and had lots of fun. It was a great experience.
