Keeping you up-to-date from the Junior Team!

There is always a lot going on in the Junior Team! Here are a few things you need to know for the rest of the term.

Our new Building Blocks domain is the 'Speaking Domain'. This domain focusses on extending the children's oral language and vocabulary knowledge. The 'Action Stations' will include a variety of different role play, puppet shows, a continuation of the Science and Inquiry stations and the current Literacy and Numeracy stations. Some will also have an extension challenge which could be writing a review, an explanation, writing a script or writing lists.

To support our 'Speaking Domain' the Junior Team will be having a 'When I Grow Up Day' on the 14th of June. A notice will go home this week.

School photos are this Wednesday the 7th of June.

Science Alive are coming to Wairakei in Week 8. They are bringing the Discovery Dome to support our Inquiry learning into the Solar System. If you haven't already, please pay your activities fee to the office. We have also had some great experiences with our Body Systems Inquiry. It has been great to see the children making connections with the body systems and their role play during the station times.

Thank you for supporting our creating and making stations. We appreciate the donations of magazines, small boxes and other bits and pieces that are great to make with. Please continue to save these items and bring them to school.

Assemblies are every second Friday morning at 9am. They are on the even weeks and Discovery Time is on the odd weeks.

School finishes for the term on Friday the 7th of July at 3pm.

Have a lovely long weekend and keep warm.

Regards,

The Junior Team
