What beautiful grounds we have by Shane Buckner

Our school is looking beautiful!

December 16 2016, and the first piece of demolition began on our school into the transformation it is becoming.

There has been a fair bit of time gone by until today, when we have all our children in new learning spaces, fit for collaborative teaching with absolutely brilliant staff able to use their amazing skills with even more purpose.

We have been met with a few road blocks along the way, as you know. The main one being the south wall of block 3 having to be totally replaced, and the need for an engineering solution to enable the integrity of the building to be in place. We have had mixed weather all along the project, but hopefully the next few weeks will play ball, and allow the final leg to be completed. That is, the painting of the north side of block 1, the finishing of the south wall and admin area (currently wrapped in white) and reinstatement of weather boards on the north side of the Ferndale unit.

You will have also noticed hopefully, two blocks have our solar panels installed now. With our eco friendly lighting and heating now in all the new builds, it was only right that our Board saw fit to show that we care about our environment and practise sustainable practices by adding these resources while we are able. We have also replaced our drinking fountains around the school with new more water efficient models, with appealing murals and separate water bottle fillers.
