Term 4 in Ōtākaro Learning Community has been all about building relationships as healthy relationships are the foundation on which quality learning can take place!
During our 'Literacy 4 Learning' morning programme, our learners have been engaged in a range of activities that promote fundamental relationship building skills such as sharing, turn taking, oral communication and being a buddy or helper to younger class members.
It has been wonderful to see our students learning to put aside their own wants/needs every now and then to offer a kind word or deed to someone else. Learning these valuable skills will help all members of our learning community to feel safe and valued at school as well as set them up for success in all areas of life - kind deeds towards others tend to find their way back to you!
