Family Fun Day 2017 by Shane Buckner
Shane Buckner — December 12, 2017
The weather may have been a change from the last couple of weeks, but the children and their families had a great deal of fun today.
To celebrate a great year at Wairakei school, we held a family fun day at school. There were animals from Arion Farm, bouncy castles, a water slide, dance area, touch and cricket games, movies, and christmas activities.
Families joined in a lot of the activities, and took advantage of a number of gazebos set up around the grounds to take shelter from the intermittent rain we had.
The short rain stopped just as the 300 sausages had been cooked, and in on orderly way, all sausages were distributed and supplemented the picnics brought by a number of families.
It was also great to see the older children continue to look after the younger ones, by taking turns, supporting them in the games and sharing their time with them.
Thanks to the families who came along, and of course to our awesome staff who ensured our children had an absolutely brilliant day.
