Tongan Language Week

WBHS —

Takanga ‘Enau Fohe Strength in Unity this is a Tongan proverb that talks about rowers in a Kalia.

A Kalia is a double hulled canoe. It takes strength and unity to row at the same time so the Kalia will go in the right direction, will sail faster and stand out in it's performance. This week parents, students and teachers have worked together to showcase and embrace the beauty of Tongan Language and culture. These are some of the faces that represent their heritage and values in our school. As a school community we are working together to give all our young men the best education; so they are 'inspiring young men of outstanding character.

There is much strength in unity. Takanga ‘Enau Fohe
