Malo e lelei

This week we are celebrating Tongan Language week. While we celebrate this we also want to show our love to the Otunuku family. When the boys were asked what makes them proud to be Tongan they all responded with their culture, the respect and love they have for each other in their families and their churches. They enjoy spending time together dancing, talking and singing.... and with a twinkle in their eyes and a wee laugh... the food! When I asked what makes them proud to be a Waitakian their response was that they could share who they are with many cultures here at school, that it was like a brotherhood. This group of young men show our school value of respect and are an example of the value of brotherhood, friendship, family and accepting others for who they are.
