Sports Roundup

WBHS Sport —

A brief roundup of sports events and results since last newsletter.

TENNIS: Thursday 13th Feb was the Aoraki Secondary Schools Tennis Championship in Timaru. WBHS sent two teams.

Marshall Hore and Jake Gilchrist came third out of eleven teams and Lachie Voyce-McCulloch and Handre van Basten would have been involved in a 5th and 6th place playoff which unfortunately did not take place.

All players did our school proud – Marshall Hore was the pick of the lot who only lost one singles match to the top player from Ashburton and beating players from Mackenzie College, Roncalli, Timaru Boy’s and the Ashburton second team.

Well done boys. Thank you to Mr Blackbeard for his support of the boys at the event.
