WBHS —

Our 1st XI have won the Otago Super Smash Cricket title.

Yesterday the WBHS 1st XI played the Otago Regional Super Smash T20 Cricket FINAL at Centennial Park against Taieri College.

WBHS won this exciting clash and are now the Otago Super Smash Champs.

WBHS scored 121/5 in their 20 overs while Dunstan were 107/8.

Top batsmen for WBHS were Oliver Kinzett and Mason James both on 24 and Ben Paton on 20 (not out).

Jacob Davies shone for the bowlers taking 2 for 4 off 2 overs.

The road to the final saw a series of matches being played by various schools around Otago.

The first for WBHS was a local derby against St Kevins.

WBHS scored 214/4 while SKC were 43/6.

Our top batsman in this match were Jack Price on 59, Ben Paton on 48 (not out) and Mason James 43 (not out).

After toppling SKC the team moved on to Dunstan High School which saw the match being played at Milner Park.

WBHS scored 101/9 off 18.5 overs while Dunstan were all out in the 19th, 66/10.

Connor Lough top scored for WBHS with 30 runs follwed by Oliver Kinzett on 12.

Our bowlers had a great day, Ben Paton taking 3 for 17 off 4, Ben Mavor took 2 for 8 off 4 and Mason James took 2 for 3 off 3.

Congratulations to the WBHS 1st XI and coach Francios Mostert - a great result after 3 fantastic 20/20's.
