Electronic Devices (including mobile phones)
The use of electronic devices, including cell phones will be banned at school from 8.40am until 3.05pm (pending ratification at this week’s Board Meeting).
Students will be able to bring cellphones to school but they will have to be kept in their bags or at the school office. If you wish to contact your son during the school day, you will have to leave a message at the school office. This ban does not include devices such as laptops, chrome-books, tablets etc… which are used for solely educational purposes in the classroom.
The rationale behind this move is to value and protect the school day as a time for our students to engage with teaching and learning along with developing the self-confidence and resilience required to minimize their dependency upon social media.
If ratified by the Board this policy will be in place from the start of Term 2 this year.
