One of the few musical events to happen this year was our Talent Quest.

This was supported by a good number of students during the two days of eliminations with performances ranging from gumboot and rugby ball throwing, through to gymnastics and amazing musical performers.

It was pleasing to see some year 9 performers giving it a go, representing all the houses.The finalists were Rory McLeod on bagpipes, Lachlan Herrick on piano, Tomos Lewis on guitar, Shan Barcelona singing, Noah Fifita on piano, Nat Vercoe demonstrating his gymnastic skills, Ben Paton, Lachlan Wright and Harry Wilson all doing readings.

The two judges Kara Cox and Angela Slemint did a stirling and very difficult job with the following results:Solo Vocal winner was Shan BarcelonaJunior instrumental winner was Noah FifitaSenior Instrumental winner was Tomos LewisAct or Reading winner was Harry WilsonThe overall winner was Noah Fifita (Sutherland House), from year 9, a superb pianist. The first time for many years that a year 9 student has won overall.
