The tragic events in Christchurch on March 15 have quite rightly dominated our thoughts of late. As a school we joined in with the rest of the country at 1.32 pm last Friday to remember the 50 victims.

At The Rector's Assembly this morning the school community presented a cheque to the local Muslim community.

Well done to our team of boys who participated at the Special Olympics Athletics Championship yesterday in Timaru.

A huge well done to all the finalists. So awesome to see so many Waitakians past and present doing so well in their chosen sporting field

Sadly it has come to my attention that videos of the massacre that occurred last Friday in Christchurch have been shared among boys at school.

Congratulations to Connor McLeod and Will Plunket who were placed 2nd at the South Island Secondary Schools Sunburst Non-Spinnaker Regatta.

Last week we had our annual summer interschool against Kings in Dunedin. Kings took the overall interschool win but our boys certainly made them work for it. Well done to Junior Cricket, Volleyball, Touch and 1st XI cricket on their awesome attitude and efforts

Following the success of the 2018 secondary schools workshops at WBHS in Oamaru, this year the Otago Academy of Sport will deliver an Academy programme in Oamaru over two workshop weekends.
