From the Board of Trustees

WBHS Board of TrusteesFebruary 9, 2021

TS Elliot said “for last years words belong to last years language and this years words await another voice” The new school year is always fill with the hope and promise of a fresh start.

Somewhat like New Year’s resolutions – we all scheme and dream about what we would like to achieve for the coming year. The Board have started this with a review of the school strategic plan and its own workplan for the coming year. These are available to view on the Board of Trustees page on the school website alongside the years meeting plan. Meetings are open to the public and we welcome your interest in the governance of the school.

Covid has really brought attention to what is wellbeing. International research found that people who thrive have five things in common. They feel connected with others, take notice of the simple things, give regularly, keep learning and are physically active. There are numerous ways you could gain your wellbeing fix just within Waitaki Boys’! The Community Association are a wonderful example of givers and connection with the school. Their first meeting of the year will be well advertised thru school Facebook and emails. There are to be regular working bees this year as we work to revive the front garden and grounds. Sports are always on the lookout for support from managerial and coaching to being available to lend a hand. 2021 will see the school production take place. Please consider being involved and connected in your son’s school.
