It was our pleasure last Friday afternoon, to host the Year 8 students who are coming to Waitaki Girls’ High in 2021.

The Year 8 students gathered in the hall where they were placed in to small groups with a Year 13 student leader. After an initial sharing activity they moved around two learning areas to have a ‘hands on’ experience. The activities included designing and making a mask, a scavenger hunt, making bath bombs and inventing a new whacky ice cream.

At the end of the afternoon students shared what they had enjoyed and expressed how they were currently feeling about the year ahead.

The staff really enjoyed being introduced to the Year 8 students and sharing their activities. We would like to thank the leaders that remained behind to help and the Year 8 students for their "can do" attitude.
