Amnesty International

Bianca Rogers & Olivia Belt —

Last Wednesday 21st, Amnesty International held a Thrift Shop to raise money for and bring awareness to this year's Freedom Challenge campaign of Climate Justice for Human Rights.

The climate justice campaign focuses on climate change as not only an environmental issue, but as a human issue. Climate change affects a range of human rights; from the right to fresh air, to a home and to the right of life itself.

The Thrift Shop was held instead of our annual world famous bake sale which unfortunately was cancelled this year due to COVID-19. Members of Amnesty brought in a variety of different clothes to sell and we also had Tilly King from the Enviro Club sell their beeswax wraps.

Overall, it was really successful and we have raised $350 towards the campaign!

Thank you to everyone who supported us and helped make it happen!
