Last Thursday 21 girls on the Enrichment & Extension programme took part in the ODT Extra! Online spelling quiz.

The girls were in teams of 3 and they were only allowed to use 1 device between them so there needed to be good communication and cooperation as they battled it out against a time limit and 80 teams from across the country. There were 10 rounds of questions in the competition all with a slightly different twist to combine spelling, proofreading, definitions, synonyms, word origins, abbreviations, acronyms along with their general knowledge and current events.

All of our teams finished in the top half of the leaderboard and one of our teams; Johanna Schoneveld, Rhiannon Thomas and Charlotte Lane came 4th - a great effort.

It has been a wee while since we have all been able to get together as a group so we also had a great catch up and shared pizza for lunch - some of us even ate while we completed! They are an awesome group of girls, all with very different strengths, passions and curiosities and are an absolute pleasure to work with. I am looking forward to our next ‘mission’ - whatever it may be.
