Waitaki Week Exchange

Waitaki Girls' High School —

This week we have faced off against SKC and WBHS in the annual Waitaki Week Exchange

Starting with basketball on Monday afternoon at the Rec Centre, the senior girls secured an exciting 48-45 win in overtime. The junior girls also had a nail biting game, going down 31-30 to SKC.

Hockey was also played on Monday, with our girls working well as a team to win 4-0 over SKC.

Wednesday saw smallbore rifle teams from all three school battling it out at the Pukeuri target range. WBHS won the competition overall with WGHS 2nd and SKC 3rd. Katie Kinnaird shot the 2nd highest score of the night. Our Football team managed to score in the last minutes of the game to draw 1-1 with SKC at Don Field.

Thursday was the turn of trapshooting at WBHS and two games of Netball at the Rec Centre. Trapshooting had a narrow 45-47 loss while our netballers took out the Whitestone Trophy in a close match winning 33-30. SKC won the year 9 game 39-21.

Thanks to all the officials, players, staff, coaches, managers and supporters involved in this week and goodluck to the boys playing rugby this afternoon. Go Waitaki!
