WGHS Swimmers are back in action in Dunedin

On Sunday 26th July, Alice Petrie and Jorgia McDiarmid-Jones headed to Dunedin to compete in the Otago Secondary Schools Swimming Champs. Both swimmers have not been back in the pool long, first due to the Waitaki Aquatic Centre being closed for lockdown, then its delayed reopening as maintenance was completed. Despite this, both girls came away with some great results. 

Both swimmers were competing in the Women's 15 & Over grade. Alice (17) placed 1st in the 100m Backstroke and 2nd in the 100m Butterfly and 200m Butterfly, while Jorgia (15) placed 2nd in the 100m Freestyle.

We wish Alice well in her training before she heads to the NZSS Swimming Champs in Hamilton later this year.
