WGHS Lawn Bowls players were named Girls Junior Champion and Runner Up at the recent SISS Championships

Year 9 students Hannah Lewis & Ella Symes competed at the South Island Secondary Schools Junior Lawn Bowls Championship in Timaru on 19th November.

The girls played 5 games of bowls (singles) each against students from various schools. Canterbury schools made up the majority of the numbers attending and they dominated the boys competition.

The two girls from Waitaki ended the day playing each other in the girls final. Ella took the win 9 - 3 and was therefore named South Island Junior Girls Champion with Hannah being the runner up.
