After the success of last year's initiative to have WGHS players part of the newly created Valley Women's team, we are again collaborating to get as many girls as possible playing cricket.

Over recent years, the WGHS cricket team has struggled with both numbers and finding the right competition to play in as a secondary school girls team. Last year we joined with Valley Cricket Club to provide a team for our players which could be strengthened by other female players in the district.

The players, club and school are all in favour of using this format again in the 2020/2021 season.

We will still strive to provide an opportunity to compete as a WGHS team in the likes of the annual Otago schools 'Bates Cup' and the Timaru Girls' High School Summer interschool.
