Otago Polytechnic
On the 24th of August 3 year 12 students had the opportunity to travel to the food design institute at the Otago Polytechnic in Dunedin for their annual desert evening.
It was a fun and interactive dessert experience evening telling some spooky stories about Dunedin's past hosted by the bachelor of culinary arts year one students. A story that was told was about a woman who had been deserted at the alter which led to some unfortunate events, the girls were presented with a dessert which was then smashed on their plate in front of them to represent her broken heart. Another interactive desert that was shown to the girls was a story about a patient who had escaped the old Dunedin asylum. The girls were taken through their working kitchen and given another desert that related to the crazy patient's life. This was a great opportunity to get a feel for the course offered in Dunedin.
