Junior South Island Secondary Schools Netball

Mrs Lane —

In the first week of the Term 2 holidays, our Year 9A and 10A netball teams travelled to Christchurch to compete in the Junior SISS tournament.

The teams had to play in awful weather on day one but the sun came out for the next 2 days and there was great skill and teamwork on display at all times.

The Year 9 team had some close results and battled their way to a placing of 27th overall. Their fair play and respect for themselves, the opposition and officials also earned them runner up in the Fair Play award across all of the teams in the competition - an amazing acknowledgement.

The Year 10 team had a great first day but a close result did not go their way so they ended up in the second half of the draw moving forward. From that point on they did not put a foot wrong and won their remaining 5 games to finish in 17th.

Our players are truly blessed by the commitment shown to them by the coaches, managers, camp mums and umpires and we would like to thank Kara, Metty, Anna, Susan, Cerys, Petra, Sarah, RJ, Barry and Emily for the hard work and dedication they have invested in our teams.
