The annual Chinese Language Award ceremony was successfully held at Otago Girls' High School on the 21st October.

Four students from Waitaki Girls’ High School won the second and third prizes in the Chinese calligraphy competition in their age groups. They were Natsuki Akimoto (Y12), Casey Kinns (Y10), Katie Paton (Y10), Ofa Tokai (Y9). Nine students won merit awards in the Chinese calligraphy competition; Isabel Carey, Allie Senior, Molly Mansfield, Kate Mortimer, Folau Tuakoi, Larnie Davidson, Sharifa Tauaa, Sydney Slee, and Mackenzie Wilson. Four students won an award for “Chinese Excellent Learner of 2020”, they were Rhiannon Thomas, Hannah Shallish, Larnie Davidson and Georgina Carter Trotman.
