Year 10 Food Technology - Staff Morning Tea

Over the past term the Year 10 Food class, were given the opportunity to create a morning tea for the staff at school.

This process consisted of trial and error, coming up with what sort of dish we were going to make and a list of specifications we had to meet. We had to incorporate ingredients from all 4 food groups and use at least one herb or spice to enhance the flavour. Keep the food low in fat and sugar. Every student in our class had to choose one staff member to be their stakeholder. The staff members that had been chosen by a student had to try two trial concept foods and give feedback to the students. This process took around 2 - 3 weeks to complete. After the 3 weeks of trials it came to the final day. A variety of food was made from brownies, sandwiches, tarts, muffins, pizzas, galettes, apple pockets, and cupcakes. The teachers seemed to enjoy this morning too and gave us very positive feedback.
