Pink Shirt Day

Student Wellbeing Committee —

The Student Wellbeing Committee planned our Pink Shirt Day today.

Students came to school wearing pink to show their support of being kind and an upstander when they see bullying or disrespectful behaviour occurring; this links with our school values of being respectful and responsible. Students were encouraged by our student speakers to reflect on how they can speak up and stand together to be an upstander.

The actions you can take to be an upstander are:

  • Letting the victim know you have their back.

  • Helping the person leave the situation or take their mind off it

  • Using your words and letting people know bullying is not ok

  • Safely getting help from someone that can diffuse the situation

  • Encouraging your mates to reach out to their support network
