For July we have awarded another deserving WGHS Sportswoman with a voucher from a local Oamaru business thanks to Team Symes at LJ Hooker

For July, our sportsperson of the month is year 13 student Alice Petrie.

Over the July school holidays, Alice attended her last NZ Secondary School Swimming Champs. Alice has been attending Aoraki, Otago, South Island and NZ Secondary School swimming events representing Waitaki Girls’ High School since year 9. We would like to commend Alice for her commitment to her sport and travelling the length of the country representing Waitaki Girls’. Alice is not only a great swimmer, she plays cricket, touch, basketball and is a member of the Senior A netball team. She has also represented the school in many multisport events, adventure racing and most recently sprint kayaking. Congratulations Alice, we wish you well in your future sporting endeavours.
