On Wednesday students came together wearing yellow to pledge support for safe driving.

Mrs Corlett —

This includes being the driver and being a passenger, both involve important decision-making about behaviour in a car.

This fits with the key purpose of the student-led group Kaitiaka o Ara, SADD which focus on empowering young people to make safer and better choices on the road.

At lunchtime, SADD students set up an obstacle course competition for whānau groups to enter. Students had to complete tasks requiring concentration and focus. The winning whānau group was Gibson 4, Mrs Lilley was delighted to watch her students win the SADD trophy and will have this proudly displayed in her classroom.

Thank you to the WGHS - SADD committee for efforts in planning our day. Funds raised will be going towards a SADD project promoting safe choices on the road.
