Dove Award - National recognition for youth empowerment and campaigning was awarded for the following:

“Year in, year out, WGHS exceeds Amnesty NZ expectations when it comes to delivering campaigning and human rights impact.”

“Sonya Hull supports strong, effective student leaders and group members who go on to inspire the entire school to join in their campaigning.”

I do not know who nominated me for this award. It was a complete surprise to be rung and told I had not only been nominated but that I had won the award. It is an absolute pleasure to work with such amazing young women who inspire me with their passion and commitment to raising awareness about human rights issues and abuses around NZ and the world.
