Youth Film Day
Six teams of Year 9 and 10 students supported by a mentor from senior school entered the Youth Film Day competition where they had six hours to video, edit and submit a 90-second film focusing on Family Harm.
They were required to incorporate one of the Etu Whānau - The Values:
Aroha - Giving with no expectation of return
Whanaungatanga - It’s about being connected
Whakapapa - Knowing who you are and where you belong
Mana/Manaaki - Building the mana of others, through nurturing, growing, and challenging
Korero Awhi - Positive communication and actions
Tikanga - Doing things the right way, according to our values
Our films and entries from Waitaki Boys’, East Otago, and St Kevin's College will be judged on 1st June at 6.30 at the Opera House.
The public is welcome to attend. We are so grateful for the support of the NZ Police, Waitaki Safer Communities, and the District Council along with the filmmakers who supported the girls. The standard of work was terrific.
