Crab Camp 2021

Mrs V Lilley, HOL Science —

Crab Camp is a chance for the Biology and Statistics students to put their theories into practice, by manipulating the behaviour of real life crabs.

Working alongside University staff, this year students performed brand new experiments such as sedimentation loading and seaweed preferences in the Camouflage crab, as well as the old favourite crab flipping. It was awesome to see their resilience, both the students and the crabs, as the girls worked out their protocols on Friday. By Saturday they had all mastered their experiments, and understood the physiology driving the behavioural responses.

A huge thank you to Mrs Lane for supporting and guiding the students during the trip.
