Infinite Possibilities Exhibition
We are excited that one of our Year 9 students, Rhiannon Thomas, has been selected for the ‘100 women, 100 words… Infinite Possibilities exhibition’ which is a digital portrait exhibition developed by Otago Museum.
Those selected are women and girls of all ages who actively embrace science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics as part of their lives. Rhiannon’s photograph will be displayed along with a caption of 100 words describing the role STEM has played in her life.
The exhibition will open in early December, and is one part of the Unlocking Curious Minds-funded project Full STE(a)M Ahead, which Otago Museum, in partnership with the Dodd-Walls Centre and MacDiarmid Institute, has designed to help close the gender gap in STEM fields.
Otago Museum Science Engagement Coordinator, Jessa Barder, noted “We were blown away with the response. We received nominations spanning all ages and across all walks of life. We truly have some amazing and inspiring STEM role models, both at the University and hiding in more rural parts of Otago and Southland.”
Well done Rhiannon, we look forward to seeing your photograph in the Otago Museum.
