Kanazawa University Geopark Exchange

Mrs Wright & Mrs Hellier —

On Tuesday 22nd the Enviro Club members had an online exchange with eighteen first-year students from Kanazawa University in Japan

The aim was to learn about different Geoparks around the world. It was a great opportunity for the Japanese students to use their English and learn a little about our Geoparks - the Japanese students were also from a new Geopark area.

The meeting also involved learning about cultural differences and deepening the student's understanding of other cultures.

Enviro Club presented information about our Geopark, then went into breakout rooms where they talked about student lifestyle, their favourite local food, what is popular among teenagers now and what they value in New Zealand and their local area.

The meeting also involved learning about cultural differences and deepening the student's understanding of other cultures.

We are grateful to Lisa Heinz, the manager of the Waitaki Whitestone UNESCO Geopark for arranging this opportunity.
