Peer Support Training

Ms S Hull, TIC Peer Support —

Last Friday, the process to help determine who the Peer Support leaders would be for 2021 began.

From the current Year 12 cohort, 44 students attended. The day was broken up into a series of modules, which identified aspects of leadership; looking at all the different facets that make up a successful leader. It was really positive watching the groups interact with one another and to be prepared to discuss and participate in conversations and activities which may have put them, at times, outside their comfort zone. The staff involved all had put in a great deal of effort and preparation to make this a successful day for all students involved. A huge thank you to Mrs Bain, Mrs Grant, Ms Sinclair and Ms Gillies. Later this week, the girls who have been chosen to be next year’s leaders will be informed via email to their school address and they then commit to not only the training day on Friday 29 January, but also to fulfilling the role as tuakana (big sister) helping and guiding a younger teina (little sister).
