After a 2 year hiatus, we were able to once again host TGHS for our annual Winter Sports exchange.

A fun night was had by all who came to our movie fundraiser "Wear a Dress to THE DRESSMAKER".

We were very proud to be represented at the presentation of awards by some of the girls who participated in the Youth Film Competition.

As the days get colder and darker, we can lose sight of the small (and large) things we have to be grateful for.

The highlight of our cultural calendar, House Choirs, will be held in the MK Dunning Hall at 7.00pm on Thursday 7th July. Join us for a great night of musical entertainment. Tickets are available at the school office. $4.00 per person.

Three WGHS students were finalists at the recent 2021 North Otago Sports Awards.

Congratulations to the WGHS Walk for Wellbeing team who raised this large amount of money $4,529 for Youthline by exercising everyday in the month of May for at least 31 minutes.

Last Thursday 2nd June, we had 4 of our senior squash players head off to the Aoraki Squash Champs held in Timaru.

Over the past few weeks a group of music students have been touring the local primary schools to present a concert.

The students of 9KA and 9KI Social Studies classes recently assumed a new role in class, that of teacher.

Last Thursday Learning Centre pupils visited the Forrester Gallery to view two exhibitions - Earth Caught in Stone and Maritza Boutique.

Queens birthday weekend we saw a few members of the Waitaki singers performed at the winter festival. They performed most of their repertoire and we’re highly praised by the community! Well done to the Waitaki singers!

All trophies awarded in 2021 must be returned to the school office by 20th June.
