Navigating Big Feelings – a Parenting Seminar
Rāwhiti School PTA are incredibly excited to be bringing two incredible speakers together for an informative evening on Tuesday 15 November, 7pm at the Rāwhiti School hall at 150 Leaver Terrace, North New Brighton.
We welcome the opportunity to open our Rāwhiti School campus to the wider community and share this incredible opportunity.
We all know that Navigating Big Feelings throughout life is challenging at times - so why not come along and equip your mental toolkit with some pearls of wisdom - in a friendly and relaxed environment. Something for everyone!
Rebekah Ballagh - is traveling from Nelson to be with us for this event. She is a remarkable young woman with a wealth of knowledge. “a counsellor, coach, best-selling author/illustrator & the founder of Journey to Wellness - your very own mental health and wellbeing refillery!” Rebekah can cover from primary/preschool right through to teens when talking about the states of the nervous system - this basically explains anger, anxiety, shut down/depression etc and also applies to the parents themselves. Then for each state/emotion she can give some practical strategies.
Sandy Hitchens - is our well respected, local New Brighton counsellor from 'Doors of Hope Counselling' - Sandy works supporting families and in schools and is a breath of fresh air. Sandy Hitchens will speak about attachment and this relationship being at the heart of helping our kids. She’ll also speak about parents trusting their own intuition when it comes to parenting.
Tickets are only $5 per person - each ticket also goes in the draw to win a raffle with prizes being vouchers purchased by our PTA at local businesses. Over $500 worth of prizes to be shared.
There will be hot and cold drinks available to purchase, discounted books from Rebekah’s collection and FREE resources for all who attend.
