A Striking Performance

Chris Smith —

It was fabulous to have the whole school in our Hall for the Strike percussion group performance held on Tuesday.

What a term, plenty happening within classrooms, across stages and around sports fields. My thanks, once again, to our passionate staff that have poured their all into providing our tamariki with lots of opportunities for them to thrive. My thanks also to our community for their ongoing support of the school. Whether this is as a member of our vital Home and School committee, a sports coach, parent help at sleepovers, helping with Kapa Haka uniforms, transport for school trips, or parenting to the best of your ability it all adds to make us the neat place we are.

Thanks to everyone who raised their hand during the recent Board of Trustee election process. Congratulations to returning trustees - David Diehl and Andy Holborrow, and welcome to Monique Smith our newly elected member. Michelle Cone was voted in as Presiding Member (Board Chair) and Jason Sargeant deputy Presiding Member (deputy Board Chair).

It is sadly goodbye to a couple of our hard-working past members also;

Simon Wilson who has served 3 years on the Board and contributed his governance expertise with aplomb. Simon took on the Self Review NAG area and his attention to detail assisted the board greatly in this area.

We also farewell Michelle Matthews who has served on our Board for 3 1/2 years. A fabulous supporter of the school in many areas Michelle has been integral in assisting the school with its Te Ao Maori - the Maori World. Her ability to relate to everyone and her passion for wanting the best for all children will long stand in my memory. To Simon and Michelle - aroha atu, aroha ma.

I do hope you have an enjoyable break with whanau and friends across the upcoming holiday period.

As always if I can be of assistance do please make contact.

Kind regards

Chris
