Southern Steel Visit

Anna Ollerenshaw —

Southern Steel Netball Team came to visit Wakari School.

At our school three of the members of the Women Southern Steel Netball team came to see us and tell us a wee bit about netball. We asked lots of questions about how they train and if they are kept on a special diet or not. They taught us about teamwork and how important it is to work hard to get us where we want to be. Nearly everyone asked a question and we learned heaps about netball. They also told us that they were having a game in Dunedin this Wednesday and they put the names of everyone that had asked a question in a box then we pulled out a name and if your name got pulled out then you would get a ticket to the game. We can’t wait to see the Southern Steel team playing and we enjoyed their visit.

I really like how you came and we could just ask you questions about life and netball. Your answers were great by the way. We lined up to get signatures and a signed poster then we took one big photo with the three tall ladies. Two more FM ladies came in and gave us posters and said ‘be in to win two free netball tickets if you ask a good question’ all three girls (which I am sorry but  forgot your name) sat on the blue chairs and talked and when they stood up Mrs O looked so short.  Then I (Ruby Chisholm) got drawn out  and won two free tickets to the game. I am so excited to go and I hope the Southern Steel win.
