Lynda Bardwell —

Earlier this week we were very lucky to have a visit from Emma's mum Signe who is a nurse practitioner at the Emergency Department at Dunedin Hospital.

We have been learning about our skeletons as part of our Topic, so Signe spoke to us about what happens if we broke a bone and have to visit the Emergency Department. We looked at x-rays and spotted the broken bones.

Next, Signe demonstrated how to put a real cast on Emma. We had to watch carefully, as after that we all got to help put a plaster cast on our toy caterpillar. Our caterpillar is well and truly immobilised now!
