Chris Smith —

We are all in this together.

The move back to Alert Level 4 reminded us all of how precarious our current situation is around Covid-19. There is no doubt that lockdowns do have an effect on our tamariki, regardless of all of our best efforts, it is something that will always have an impact.

Term 4 is shaping as one full of opportunities for students with a lot of the term 3 events being pushed into term 4. It is great that the children will still be able to participate, sometimes in different ways, around those planned events but I am also cautious on the impact to an already jam-packed normal final term, which only lasts for just over 8 weeks. Be mindful of your young ones and keep a close eye on how they are coping with things. As always please keep open lines of communication with your child's teacher.

It has been a pleasure of late showing our perspective enrolments through the hubs. Children focused on learning, developing independence and having respectful relationships with peers and teachers are all prevalent. Several parents mention the calmness they feel when entering our rooms, a tribute to your children and our staff.

My thanks to all whanau for your continued support, you are a great bunch. Enjoy your time with your loved ones across the next couple of weeks and I look forward to seeing the recharged faces on day 1 next term.

As always if I can be of assistance do pop in to see me.

Regards

Chris
