Principal's Post
Congratulations to our fabulous Tikanga Wakari Kapa Haka group. We all felt so proud of you for your outstanding success at the Māori and Pacific Island Festival.
It was an absolute joy to watch our tamariki at Polyfest. A huge shout out to everyone involved. To Whaea Sue and Che, thank you so much for your commitment, enthusiasm and expert tuition, Heather Bonney for being the chief organiser, Dave Waddell and Tom Mepham for their beautiful accompaniment on guitar, Katy Fitzgerald and Tia Knierum-Te Ahuru for their support and encouragement, and most importantly our wonderful tamariki for giving it everything out on stage. The whole school supported you, watching the live feed back at school and feeling super proud. Thank you also to the parents who helped with preparing the uniforms and all the other extra jobs which help to make it a success.
Congratulations to Chloe Hately who is having a baby mid Term 4. Jo Brooks will take over in Room 9 from Week 4 until the end of the term. We wish Chloe and Garrick all the very best and look forward to meeting their new arrival. Deborah Storer will teach in Room 12 on Fridays from Week 4, Term 4, taking over from Jo.
As term 3 draws to a close it is a good to look back on a really successful term filled with activities and opportunities for children to take part in. It is great to see our children get involved and take advantage of opportunities that are offered both in and out of school.
I would like to take this time to say a really big thank you to Andy Holborow and David Diehl, who are finishing their time on our Board of Trustees. Both Andy and David have done an outstanding job on the Board and we are so grateful for their time and commitment. I have really appreciated their support and the school has truly benefitted from having their expertise and wisdom on our Board.
Once again, if I can be of assistance with any matter, feel free to contact me.
Ngā mihi
