The new Hubs are humming

Chris Smith —

Great to see the completion of our planning coming to fruition in 2 of our refurbished Hubs.

The 5 Year allocation of building work is nearly done. We just have the finishing of the Pool roof and we will have completed a major upgrade of a large percentage of the School.  My thanks again to Staff and Pupils for continuing on during this period of disruption.

Every year seems to go by at a faster pace but I am still pinching myself that we have already arrived at the final term for 2019. Planning for classes for the 2020 school year will begin shortly. Parents are welcome to speak with Syndicate Leaders if they have any questions or requests about their child’s placement for next year. If your child is in Year 4 or 5 you should see Mrs Caroline Brown. If your child is in Year 2 or 3 you should see Mrs Lisa Lowden.

Please be aware that not all requests are able to be met and while we consider parent preferences, the placement of each child is based upon the needs of the children, our staffing and the class structures within the school. Please ensure that if you wish to discuss this you do so by Monday the 11th of November. Please also advise the office if your child is leaving Wakari. The final decisions will be made by the Senior Management team. Children will be made aware of which class they are in for 2020 later this term.

As written in the previous Newsletter the School will be closed on Friday 15 November for a Teacher Only Day. The school will be closed to students on this day.

Once the Pool upgrade has been completed we will look to get keys sold to our families so we can continue to fully utilise this resource, keep an eye out for details shortly.

Great to see so many of our children opting into sports across this term. Thanks to Mrs Lawson for her organisation and to the Staff and Parents that are supporting teams.

As always if I can be of any help please feel free to make contact.

Regards Chris
